"My goal is to provide every patient with the most up-to-date information about inherited disorders. Through education, I hope to help patients better understand their personal risk for these conditions, while also assisting patients in making decisions regarding genetic testing."
I earned my master’s degree in genetic counseling from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. My bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology was completed at the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign.
I provide comprehensive genetic counseling services in various oncology clinics, where I work closely with physicians to identify patients who have an increased risk of developing cancer. I also provide genetic counseling services in multiple perinatal assessment centers. In this setting, I present screening and testing options during pregnancy, and provide risk assessments based on family history.
In addition to oncology and prenatal, I have a personal interest in adult-onset conditions, such as neurological disorders. Through genetics, we can better understand the etiology of numerous conditions while being able to further assess both personal and familial risk for these disorders.
