“Patients trust their physicians to provide the best medical care possible. It is my primary goal to address my patients’ concerns and ensure that they are provided with all the information necessary to make an educated decision.”
In 1986, I earned my medical degree from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences/Bangalore University in India. I completed my internal medicine residency through Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in New York (Albert Einstein School of Medicine), where I also completed my gastroenterology fellowship and taught gastroenterology fellows and internal medicine residents. In Bronx, N.Y., I was also Chief of Gastroenterology at Lincoln Hospital and Assistant Director of Gastroenterology at St. Barnabas Hospital. I am board certified in gastroenterology.
Professionally, I take a special interest in colorectal cancer screening and hepato-biliary diseases. I have developed my skills in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and endoscopic ultrasound. Endoscopic ultrasound is useful in staging most gastrointestinal malignancies. I am also fluent in Spanish and Kannada.
Away from the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family, jogging and traveling.
