“Prevention will always be better than cure.” I think health issues are often complex and sensitive. I believe that listening and communicating to my patients and their family members and helping them in making complex medical decisions is very critical in patient care. I view my patient as a “whole person” rather than a patient with a particular health condition.
In 1998, I earned my M.B.B.S. (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) from the University of Baroda Medical College in Vadodara, Gujarat, India, where I also completed my Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine in 2002. I also completed an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine through the University of Illinois at Chicago/Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois in 2008. I am Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
I take special interest in cancer prevention, women’s health, obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease as well as lung disease like COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases) and asthma.
Away from the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, sports, traveling and photography. I am fluent in Gujarati and Hindi.
