“Over the years, my patients have been my best teachers. Being an audiologist allows me to enjoy my love of learning and use my skills and education to help people. I believe that one of the most important aspects of my job is to compassionately help each patient grieve his or her loss in hearing.”

In 1992, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders with a minor in psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. I then earned my Master of Arts in Audiology with a specialty in gerontology from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in 1994.

I thoroughly enjoy working with people of all ages, from infants to older adults, and respect each patient’s individual needs and concerns. Hearing loss affects a person’s entire life, from interpersonal relationships and social interactions to the enjoyment of hobbies and safety concerns. I empower patients and their families by helping them understand the impact of the hearing loss, counseling them to practice good communication strategies and teaching them to work as a team to help each other to communicate optimally. In addition, I am a strong believer in assistive technology and can recommend devices to be used in conjunction with hearing aids to improve hearing in situations where hearing aids may fall short, such as in restaurants, work settings or the classroom.

Away from the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family and many pets. I have a deep love for animals and nature. I also enjoy learning about different cultures and religions, and reading.
