The diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer is the focus of my practice. My practice stresses the early detection of skin cancer with careful skin examination, biopsy of suspicious growths, and timely therapy. When a patient is found to have a skin cancer, I discuss the treatment options and individualize removal to obtain a high rate of cure & excellent cosmetic results. I specialize in the removal of head & neck skin cancers using Mohs micrographic surgery which maximizes cure and minimizes the loss of surrounding tissue.
In 1985, I earned my M.D. from the University of Wisconsin Medical School. My residencies in Internal Medicine and Dermatology were both completed at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. My training in Mohs micrographic surgery was also completed at the University of Iowa. I am a Fellow in the American Society for Mohs Surgery. I am Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Dermatology.
I enjoy staying abreast of the latest research and developments in dermatologic surgery and skin cancer management.
Away from the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family. Camping, biking, swimming and ballroom dancing are activities I enjoy.
